All of these will help in determining your offer.
Get A Check.
At the time of appraisal, we'll walk around your car, take it for a quick spin and give you an offer in writing. There's no obligation. Take a few days to think about it or get a check on the spot. The offer will be good for 7 days from actual appraisal.
Remember to bring the required documents with you at time of appraisal. These documents are necessary to complete the transaction.
How do you determine the price you will pay me for my car?
We use leading auto valuation sites such as vAuto, Manheim Market Report as well as some of the popular consumer sites such as Kelley Blue Book and Black Book. We look at local market conditions and the statistics from these websites to get you the most for your car. Our process is transparent. We will show you all of the site results and how we make our calculation.
Are there certain cars you are not interested in buying?
In a word: no. As long as the vehicle runs we are interested in purchasing it. Whether you have a 20 year old hatchback with 200,000 miles on it or a late model luxury car we will pay you top dollar.
What if I am not sure sure I want to accept your offer?
No problem. Our appraisal is good for 7 days.
Can I get my car appraised online?
All appraisals are done in person. To determine a fair value we will need to inspect and test drive your car. When we're done, we'll give you a written offer good for seven days.
Will you show me how you arrived at the appraised value of my car?
Yes. We'll show you the various on-line sources and guides we use to determine the value. Our process is transparent. We want you to know what we know.
Why does your written offer differ from retail prices?
There are two reasons. We inspect and recondition every used car we receive. Only then can we assure that the next owner is getting a quality automobile. Additionally we need to pay our employees, cover our overhead and make a profit to stay in business.
Will making modifications to my car affect the appraised value?
Supply and demand is what determines the value of any used car. Some aftermarket features may enhance the value of a vehicle, others will detract from it's value. Some aftermarket modifications may void the factory warranty, which would reduce the appraised value.
What if all title holders cannot be present or one is deceased?
If all title holders cannot be present, you must speak to a Business Office Associate before we can purchase your car or take it in trade. Typically all title holders must sign in our presence as a safeguard.
What if I owe more on my car than the amount of your appraisal offer?
If your pay-off amount is more than the offer for your car, the difference is called "negative equity." In some cases, the negative equity can be included in your financing when you buy another car. If not, we'll calculate the difference between your pay-off and our offer to you and you can pay us directly. Please consult a business manager to see acceptable methods of payment.
What if I have a lien on my car?
We will need to contact your bank (lien holder) during business hours to get a payoff. To pay off the lien, we will need your lien holder's name and phone number, the name(s) on the account, and your lien holder's account number and social security number. If a previously paid-off lien is listed on the title, you'll need both the title and the lien release from the lien holder before we can purchase your car.
